How does this system work?
With a Broadband Internet Connection, such as Telmex's 512 Kbps Infinitum service, or Wireless Services such as Cabonet's Inalambrico, or Dedicated Bandwidth Satellite Services, (you need a minimum of a 256 Kbps connection rate) you can open up a Calling Plan in the United States with a company the Los Cabos A/V works with. With your open account, you can choose the city and area code in the area of your choice (not every area is available, however there are currently nearly 200 area codes from which you can choose) with your own "telephone line and number" in that area code. For example, if you have family or contacts in Southern California, like San Diego or Los Angeles, you can have your own telephone number in San Diego or Los Angeles, so your family, friends and contacts in LA and San Diego can call you as if it were a local call for them (even though you are located in Cabo, Mexico), without any additional costs for them or you! What's more, even with the basic Calling Plan, all of the local and regional calls you make are FREE, so you can make calls from your home or business to Southern California (or the area you choose to have your phone line) FREE, without any additional costs!

What equipment do I need to sign up for this service, and where can I purchase it?
First, you need a High Speed Internet Connection, such as Prodigy Infinitum DSL, or High Speed Wireless Internet. Second, you will need a Smart Internet Router. Third, you need a Analog Telephone converter. Fourth, you need any regular analog telephone; wireless or any regular telephone.

Can I choose a telephone line (number) for my use from any city in the US?
Each month this service is adding additional cities and area codes within the US from which you can choose. At this time, there are more than 170 area codes that you can choose from. With so many cities and area codes to choose from, you are almost guaranteed that you can find a city where you already have friends, family or business contacts located.

I have family and contacts in more than 1 city. Can I have a number is each city?
One of the many benefits of this service is that you can have your Calling Plan set up with your 1 main (master) number in the city of your choice, and you an set up additional lines for as many cities as you want at a lower rate than your first, main line. You also have the option to use the "Virtual Numbers" service. For a minimal fee each month, you can choose area codes from almost any city or area code in the US (as many as you want) where you can have a number located, but it actually rings into your main or master phone line. This is extremely beneficial for people with contacts that are spread out across the US, so they can call you free of charge, and it doesn't cost you anything to receive the call either because you receive the calls on your main line.

Can I make International calls with this service? If so how much does it cost?
Yes! You can make phone calls to anywhere in the world. The rates for international long distance calls vary, depending on the country you are calling. For example, to call to Mexico costs between $.06 USD to $.13 USD per minute depending on the city or town you are calling. If you want to call Tokyo, it will only cost you $.06 USD per minute, or to London for only $.05 USD, and Rome for only $.05 USD per minute.

I have family in Mexico City; can I call them, and how much does it cost?
If you have this service, it will cost you only $.06 USD per minute to talk to Mexico City or Guadalajara (if it is not a cell phone line you are calling). To call to certain areas in Mexico, the cost is slightly higher, however it will never go above $.13 USD per minute no matter where you call in Mexico. If you talk a lot wish your friends and family by long distance, and they have high speed internet, they can also get this service, and then you can call each other for free!
